Simon Belmont is a character from Konami's Wai Wai series. This character is a reference to Simon Belmont from Castlevania. Although not named in the actual games, the name "Simon Belmont III" appeared as Simon's name in both Konami Wai Wai World Winning Handbook and Must Win Perfect Book Konami Wai Wai World guidebooks.
Simon is a descendant of the legendary Belmont family, a family of fearless vampire hunters trained in the ways of the whip. He was captured by evil forces while investigating Dracula's unusually early reappearance in Castlevania. With his whip, Simon is capable of striking enemies which are a farther distance away than other players' ordinary attacks. However, his attacks are slower as a consequence. His cross-shaped boomerang is the most expensive special weapon in the game, at a cost of five bullets per use, but it is also one of the most effective. It flies forward and then returns to the location it was thrown from. It can strike enemies continuously, and up to three can be thrown at one time.
