The Legend of Zelda 2: Link no Bouken
เดอะเลเจนด์ ออฟ เซลดา 2
(as "Zelda II: The Adventure of Link")
Platform:
Three Eye Palace
Head back to Nabooru and go south. Play the Flute here to open the pathway. Follow the path. There are three encounters that are pretty tough to get through, what with the Red Lizardmen throwing rocks and such.
Once you have cleared the path, cross the bridge (Fairy makes it easier, but not totally necessary) and head to the coast. To the right of where Link stands in the pic is where the last Heart Container is. Head north of that to a cave.
Cross through the cave and use the Hammer facing the forest area where the town is in the pic. This is New Kasuto. There are a few things to do in this town. First, wait for the old lady to come out of the house (wearing purple). She will say that you deserve her help. Go inside and into the basement where the last Magic Container is (note you can only get this if you have the other 3).
In the second part of town, there is an open house with nothing in it but a fireplace. Go into it (as you would a door) and you will meet the Wise Man who will teach Link the Spell spell (don't ask where they got the name from - it has odd effects like changing enemies into weaker monsters). Go right to the next scene. It should be a lot of nothing. Cast Spell here to reveal a tall building. Go inside and grab the Magic Key (you no longer need to collect keys in palaces, as this will unlock as many doors as you want).
Head back to the other side of the cave. Go to the middle of the three rocks in the desert and play the flute to reveal the Three Eye Palace. Enter the Palace.
With no keys in this palace (you should have the Magic Key) and with one level to go, there is no real reason to search the palace. Go down the elevator to the bottom and go right. Jump the two pits and continue going left. You will soon come to a room with a cliff similar to the one in level three. Jump it and go right.
You will then come to a room with a few statues. A bit after the third one is a false floor. Jump it and keep going right. You will soon come to the boss room... not. This is actually a fight with an Ironknuckle on a horse (just like the boss from the Island Palace). Kill it and go right to get the Cross.
Head back to the two pits you jumped and go down them. Go down two screens and go right from there. When you come to a huge lava pit, cast Fairy to cross it. Keep going right (facing another Ironknuckle) and you will soon come to another pit. If you have enough magic to cast Fairy, Shield and Jump, cast Fairy and go right to the boss room. If not, fall down and stab the statue to the right of the room.
Cast Shield and Jump and get ready. This fight is pretty easy as long as you avoid Barba's fire. Wait for it to come out of the lava then do the Downward Thrust on top of his head. Do that enough times and it will die. (I myself prefer to wait for the dragon to rise and stab it in the face, as if you bounce off it when trying to downthrust, you might land in the lava. -RPT). Grab the key, go right and put the last crystal into the statue (your levels should be at their fullest level right now). |
