        In the early game Tien will serve as the backbone of your party, with a
high Technique stat and some fairly strong Ki attacks, which is only compounded
if you devote your 2 stat points per level into Technique. However, after a
while he begins to become far less useful, and if you have any plans to do the
monster capturing side-quest, you will eventually have to delegate your bonus
stat points into Luck as opposed to Technique. From Levels 1 to 24, he only
gains +2 in Technique, but after that he also gets +2 in Attack and Defense.
