Miranda
Age: 26
Hometown: Deningrad
Element: Light
Weapon: Bow
First Sacred Sister Miranda (ミランダ) of Mille Seseau is the final character to join the party in Legend of Dragoon. She replaces Shana on Disc 3 when the latter feels her Dragoon Spirit reject her as its host in the Chamber of the Signet Sphere. Like Shana, she is a healer and tends to the sick and wounded, despite her abrasive personality. She is the character of choice for using magic attack items as she and Shana have the highest Magic Attack of all the playable characters.
Miranda is a solid, reliable companion, brave and dedicated to the defense of Deningrad. However, she is a harsh task-master with her soldiers in Deningrad, and is either utterly candid or terribly rude depending on the player's viewpoint. She has also been known to abuse her fellow Dragoons, even at one point challenging Rose in this manner. On one occasion she berates her guards for having let Lloyd past them, despite the party's prior assessment of Lloyd as being an unusually powerful opponent. Despite her hard as nails exterior, she has a tender heart when it comes to Queen Theresa and her fellow Sacred Sisters.

Dragoon
The White Silver Dragoon Spirit's specialty is healing the party, provided three of the four spells do so. The White Silver Dragoon is also a strong magic user, and the two offensive spells have high damage attributes. None of the healing spells duplicate those of the others, but rather are complementary. The fifth level spell, for example, both attacks and heals, without the amount healed being dependent on the damage done, i.e. Rose's Astral Drain. To transform into the Dragoon, Miranda covers her breasts while standing at the left side and activates the White Silver Dragoon's Spirit at the center of her chest while covering in flashes of light as the sillouette of her naked body is seen being covered with white feathers in a golden light to form her Dragoon outfit and makes a pose.
Miranda gains more from Dragoon form than any of the characters, and since she is commonly seen as weaker than them in normal form, this is a net gain for her. The bonus of the White Silver Dragoon changes Miranda's effectiveness at physical attacks considerably. Miranda at a hypothetical level 10 would have 17 base attack; half that of Lavitz (the disparity gets slightly worse at higher levels). However in Dragoon form, while Lavitz gets between 150%-170% stronger physical attacks, Miranda's physical attacks are boosted by 200%-220%. The difference drops to 50% more physical attack for Lavitz at Dragoon Level 1, with the difference climbing slightly at higher Dragoon levels. Obviously, Miranda's magical damage more than makes up for her lack of physical damage; her Magic Attack stat is even higher than Lavitz' Physical Attack stat.
It should be noted that the opposite is true for Lavitz' and Miranda's magical attacks in Dragoon form; Lavitz gets between 200%-220% stronger magic, while Miranda gets a 150%-170% boost.
Dragoon Level
With no additions, the SP Miranda gains with each attack is completely dependent on her Dragoon Level. One fact and two potential strategies arise from this: Fact- level matters much less to Miranda. When she might be most needed, typically in boss battles, she would be eating EXP that her development requires less than other characters. Strategy one- players can attempt to raise her Dragoon Level up as early in the game as possible, when enemies give less EXP and are less of a threat (and remember that Miranda inherits Shana's Dragoon Level and total experience). Strategy two- players can wait until the entire arsenal of Spirit-gaining and Speed-enhancing equipment is available and use this to their advantage; lowering the amount of time needed to achieve Dragoon levels which "saves" Miranda for when she would be most needed (at the end-game bosses).
In order to DLV up quickly, she is best equipped with accessories that can help her gain bonus SP such as the Spirit Ring (because of her high speed, at 20 SP per turn, it can be very helpful) and Wargod's Sash, giving 50% more SP per attack. The Dancer's Shoes and Dancer's Ring can each add about a third to her already high Speed, and the Speed Up item, which multiplies the existing Speed rather than adding a set amount, gets its maximum effectiveness when used on her.
The Death Frontier is a recommended area for power-leveling as it does not have random battles; instead making contact with monsters on the map initiate battle. Monsters re-spawn again after each battle (except for Cactus, which requires a screen change). This is particularly good for leveling Miranda's Dragoon level (especially if you've neglected using her or Shana), as Sandworms often enough appear alone and can take a lot of abuse. By equipping her with the Arrow of Force from Ulara and the Wargod's Sash from turning in Stardust, you can vastly increase the SP she gains with each physical attack. Combined with the Dancer's Shoes, Speed Up, Speed Down, and Magic Signet Stone to maximize her speed and minimize the Sandworm's actions, she can easily reap SP in the thousands from a single battle if she is the only one attacking, though it is advisable to finish the fight as soon as the Speed Down and Magic Signet Stone expire, even if it means attacking with someone else.
