Summer Festivals

Fetch Fest - Summer 1

You can only participate in this festival if you own an adult pet by Spring 31. Zack will stop by your house in the morning and ask if you want to join in the frisbee distance contest. If so, you'll select your adult pet. Zack will take it from you for the day.

On Summer 1, head to the beach between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm. You'll earn +5 FP with each of the villagers you talk to who are there to watch the pet contest. If you didn't have an adult pet to enter into the festival, then you can head back to working on your farm; there's nothing else here for you to do.

If you DID enter one of your pets, talk to Zack to start the contest. You will get two chances to get the longest successful catch with your pet during the disc toss mini-game. You can see the current champion distances on the message board next to the bench.

Obtaining the longest successful frisbee disc throw will reward you with an additional +20 FP with the villagers. You'll also receive a Power Berry the first time you win this festival.

Time stops while you are on the beach, so you can spend the time catching fish. You won't lose stamina while fishing during the festival, but you also won't earn any tool experience on your Fishing Rod.

Cluck-Cluck Clash - Summer 7

On Summer 6, you'll be greeted by Rick when you exit your farmhouse. He will ask if you want to join the chicken festival taking place the next day. If you wish to participate, select the bird with a lot of hearts from the list of your bird friends. Your chicken will do okay with 5 hearts of affection, but having more hearts would be great. Rick will then take your chosen bird away for the day.

On Summer 7, walk into Rose Plaza between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm. Before starting the sumo tournament, talk to the villagers in the plaza to earn +5 FP with each of them. Talk to Rick to start the tournament.

Your chicken will participate in a three-round winner-take-all tournament. The goal of the mini-game is to scare the opposite chicken off the sumo mat. To frighten the rival bird, press the A Button to entice your chicken to jump and flap its wings. If the rival bird startles because of your bird's actions, it will respond with a ! above its head and then walk for a short distance. You'll want to continue this until the bird walks off the edge of the mat. At the same time, your rival competitor is trying to scare your bird off the mat.

The first round is easy to win. Round 2 is a little harder, and round 3 is the most difficult. If your chicken is the winner of the three challenges, you will earn an additional +20 FP with the festival villagers. You will also receive a gold Chicken Sumo trophy for your farmhouse if it is the first time you won the sumo tournament. Your winning chicken can now produce Golden Eggs or Platinum Eggs if the bird has 8 or more hearts.

  • Golden Egg: Less than 1000 hours of outdoor pasture time.
  • Platinum Egg: More than 1000 hours of outdoor pasture time.
  • X Egg: A 1-in-255 chance of appearing instead of a Platinum Egg.

While there are two colors of chickens (white and brown), they are the same species of bird.

Don't forget to feed you festival-winning chicken before you go to bed that night. Since it hasn't eaten yet that day (Rick doesn't give your bird a pre-sumo lunch), it will need to eat that night for an eggs to be laid the next morning.

Moo-Moo Festival - Summer 20

Mugi will visit your farmhouse on the morning of Summer 19. If you want to participate in the cow judging contest, select any adult from the list of available contestants. You can choose either a normal, Coffee, Fruit, or Strawberry cow for your entry. Once selected, Mugi will take the cow away for the day.

On Summer 20, head to Rose Plaza between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm. Talking to the villagers at the festival will earn +5 FP with each villager. To start the contest, talk to Mugi at his booth in the northwest corner of the plaza. Mugi will judge each of the contest entries and then give his verdict. If you win, you will earn an additional +20 FP with each of the villagers and a gold Cow Trophy to decorate the inside of your farmhouse. Your winning cow can now produce Gold Milk or Platinum Milk if it has 8 or more hearts of affection.

  • Gold milk: Less than 1000 hours of outdoor pasture time.
  • Platinum milk: More than 1000 hours of outdoor pasture time.
  • X milk: A 1-in-255 chance of appearing when harvesting Platinum milk.

Because there are four types of cows (normal, Coffee, Fruit, and Strawberry), you'll have to win this festival with each type of cow to aquire Gold, Platinum, and X for each of the milk varieties.

Fireworks Festival - Summer 24

This evening festival begins at 6:00 pm on Mineral Beach. Walk into the area to see the other regular marriage candidates waiting for the firework show to begin. You'll earn +5 FP with each of the candidates you talk to.

  • If you are not married, candidates that have a green heart color (30,000 LP) or higher will invite you to watch the fireworks with them. Accepting their proposal will start the fireworks show.
  • If you are married, you will watch the fireworks after talking to your spouse on the beach.
  • If you don't have the minimum friendship required to watch the show with that special someone, you'll watch the fireworks all by yourself after talking with everyone on the beach.

Time stops while you are on the beach, so you can spend the time catching fish. You also won't lose stamina while fishing during the festival.
